Daily December (Week 1)

I didn't do Project Life this year (maybe I will for 2012—I've occasionally missed it this year) but I've considered doing a Daily December album before, celebrating the Most Wonderful Time of the Year with at least one photo and journaling for each day. I'm going to blog each week's worth of pictures since I won't get my prints to do the Daily December scrapbooking right away. We've been enjoying a festive season so far.

Thursday, Dec 1: Claire turned one month old!

Friday, Dec. 2: We went over to Granna and Opa's for dinner. Kate colored and played with Granna after dinner while Opa held Claire. Kate showed no signs of slowing, even as Granna yawned in exhaustion and watched enviously as the rest of us actually fell asleep! (cell phone pics)

Saturday, Dec. 3: Our family went to see the Nashville Chamber Singers' holiday concert and then pick out our Christmas tree. Here, Kate and Daddy admire the chosen tree. (Notice Kate without her coat—it was unseasonably warm this weekend!)

Sunday, Dec. 4: I took the girls to an ice show—the holiday performance of the skating students at Nashville's main ice rink. It didn't hold Kate's attention the whole time, but she did "ooh" and "ahh" at the more impressive jumps and spins early on in the show. She made fast friends with this girl (one of the young performers) and got to see ice skates up close. Claire slept in the sling the whole time. (cell phone pic)

Monday, Dec. 5: After doing the lights, beads, and more fragile ornaments myself while Kate was at school, we decorated the rest of the tree as a family. Kate and Daddy put the star on top after all the ornaments were hung. (I cut the top spike down a bit today so the star doesn't teeter so precariously a foot above the rest of the branches!)

I'm looking forward to creating some cool, montage-style scrapbook pages for the whole series of pics. I may include a couple post-Thanksgiving/pre-December pics too, like:

Nala and Kate making a snowman ornament together and Kate hanging it and the ornaments she made in Sunday school on our little fake tree.

And our Advent wreath, calendar, and devotional that we're doing each night at dinner.

What fun Christmassy things have you been doing so far this December?
