Matt and I are planning to take the Intelligender gender prediction test tomorrow morning. It's my 27th birthday gift to myself. The over-the-counter, urine-based test will tell us, with 90% accuracy, whether we are having a boy or a girl. As I've mentioned, the competition is fierce. Matt and I each have a strong preference, in the obvious directions. The poll Andrew created is showing girl 3:1, and several amateur clairvoyants have "feelings" in the female direction, but I'm thinking our chances are still 50:50.So, with under 24 hours to go before "the big reveal," I want to know--what's so great about boys or girls? Other than loving them just because they're your child, why are you thankful to have a boy? Why do you love having a girl?

Boys are pains in the tail when they're little and girls are pains in the tail during their preteen or teen years.
Boys often feel pressured into jobs that will pay decently and hence "bring home the bacon"; whereas girls often can pursue more creative or lower paying jobs without guilt.
A daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life, a son is a son until he takes a wife. Some truth to be had, but I know a lot of mama's boys, but the female community is divided on whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.
Boys are expected to pay for dates, but girls are expected to spend money on clothes and makeup. Women's Libbers seem to want to pay for their share or take turns paying, but if they like nice clothes and makeup--we end up paying for it all! Just as women end up doing much of the housework and usually have jobs now. However, Peggy Lee said it best about how she could do it all..."Because I'm a woman. W-O-M-A-M. Amen!"
Girls smell better than boys and make fewer noises with their body openings.
Males are easy to understand and don't talk in code or telepathically as females seem to.
Men would never ask if an article of clothing makes their butt look big.
Girls can be involved in sports, usually without allowing it to define their self worth. For that matter, men have that problem in a lot of areas, not the least of which is at work.
Girls cost more than boys, assuming one doesn't count car wrecks.
Girls can't get boys pregnant.
Most men are comfortable with silence. With women, silence has a meaning known only to women.
Men are happy to just be with other men on the golf course or at a game. Men don't need to talk about their relationships.
Having said all that, I'm still counting on a daughter being a daughter for the rest of her life.
